My husband is so wonderful! He surprised me, by taking me to the Peery Hotel on Saturday night for our one year anniversary. I didn't want to go because I felt so horrible, but Nate talked me into it and I'm so glad we went. It is the coolest hotel! It was built in 1910 and is gorgeously decorated in Victorian period antiques. I loved it! Even though I was sickly we still had a good time, we read, took a nap, took a bath in the wonderful jetted tub and just relaxed. Nate even packed me a cooler filled with orange juice and bottled water so I was all set. The bathroom was my favorite!
We went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill next door. I love how they give you crayons and let you color while you wait for your food! I could only eat a few bites of dinner, but the dessert felt really good on my throat. The dessert was amazing - Three-Berry Tiramisu, if you go anytime soon, this is a must. Best anniversary ever, I have the best husband-he took care of me the whole time and even though all of our plans for our "perfect first anniversary" went completely array (because of me), it was such a fun time. I think that's what it's really all about - spending time together, being best friends and taking care of one another. I'm one lucky gal. I can't believe it's been a year already! It's gone by so quickly, yet I don't really remember how life was before I met Nate! It's been the best year of my life!
With not much to do but lay around and get better, I've had the chance to look at a lot of things and find some inspiration. Nate showed me these beautiful Lego interpretations. This guy (Balakov) took old, classic photographs from history and recreated them with Legos - something only my husband would come across. These just blow me away. This one is my favorite, I like this one and this one also. Under the photo there is a link to the original, it's cool to see how similar they really look.
This blog has really been inspiring me as of late. Her blog is in German, so a little hard to understand (I need to brush up on my German, or have Becky translate for me) but her scrapbook layouts are amazing. She does a lot of neat things with layering and using unconventional items and methods, I especially love the layout on her March 10th post.
A few more, The Scarlet Lime, Red Velvet Art, and One Little Word. Annette, Camille and Carly came over on Friday night to scrapbook. Good times. I love those girls. They are always inspiring me too. Carly is working on her wedding album, which is turning out so cute (i'm jealous!) and Camille and Annette are always coming up with the cutest projects. What's been inspiring you lately?
xoxo,
Lisa

Bless your heart. I'm so sorry you got so sick, that is a bummer. I'm glad Nate has been taking care of you, though. Love the pictures of the Peery hotel, I've always wanted to go inside. Happy year anniversary! It's crazy how fast it goes.
