Snow-Guitar Hero-Paint-President Hinckley

The snow has taken over and I'm loving every minute of it! We woke up this morning to a good 6-8 inches and it's still going strong. Archimedes hasn't really figured out what it is yet. He'll go outside and stand in the same spot until he gets too cold and comes in the house. Nate had the brilliant idea of throwing him in the snow to see how he would react. He was very confused. I think his bright orange fur looks very nice against the white snow.

Doxen, on the other hand, loves it! She loves to frolic throughout the yard, bounding to and fro. She has made paths around the perimeter of the yard and normally doesn't stray from those much, unless her baby is thrown.

Those two are getting along rather well these days. It's nice that they have one to another to keep company when we are at work. They are awfully cute together.

It's my birthday on Tuesday [yay], but we celebrated with the family last Sunday. Since my Mom's birthday is January 30 we did a combined party. Good fun and presents! Everyone is obsessed with Guitar Hero, even little Kylee!

We even attempted a family photo.

The babies went crazy helping unwrap presents and blowing out the candles.

Tonight we also went to my Mom's for a "super bowl party", which was mostly playing with the babies, eating lots of food and playing Guitar Hero. Not much football watching (except for the awesome Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers halftime show [nix the beard, Tom!]) Like I said before, the Guitar Hero obsession is getting a little big out of control, all ages are doing it now.

On our way home from the party, Nate and I spun on some black ice on the freeway three complete times. It was pretty scary. Luckily there were no cars near us and we had four lanes to keep us from going off the road. The odd thing is that when we did stop spinning we ended up in the lane we began in and facing forward. Those kind of things make me realize how precious life is and that it's out of my hands. It's in the Lord's hands.

Now that my scrap desk is mostly organized and put together, I've been doing some much needed scrapping and crafting. I've been loving the paint as of late and been doing some fun experimenting. This is a card I made for my friend Sabrina this past week. I'm obsessed with this color combination. I also started doing a "this is me" journal. Photos soon to come on that.

On a serious note, Nate and I had the opportunity to go to President Hinckley's viewing on Thursday evening. We arrived at 5:30pm and saw President Hinckley around 8pm. It was an amazing experience that I doubt either of us with ever forget. He was such a great man and will truly be missed. The spirit that was in that building was nothing like I've ever felt and a deep, tenderness was felt by both Nate and I. More than anything a confirmation of the plan of salvation and a gratitude for life after death. I'm so grateful that we are sealed as a family. We are so lucky to live so close to the church headquarters and take part in this awesome event.
